LJM library error code 1298 LJME_ATTR_LOAD_COMM_FAILURE when connecting to Labjack.

Hello Labjack Support Team,

When we connect any of our labjack devices to one of our Windows 7 systems, when trying to communicate with any given channel through python, we get an LJM library error code 1298 LJME_ATTR_LOAD_COMM_FAILURE error.

We are able to connect to the devices through Kipling though.

Do you have any suggestions that could help us troubleshoot the issue? The same set of Labjacks do work with our other systems.

Appreciate any help.

1. Make sure you're running

1. Make sure you're running the latest software:

https://labjack.com/support/software/installers/ljm

2. Please update to the latest firmware using Kipling.

3. What connection type are you using?

4. Try making sure only one program is talking to the device at once.

5. Does the error continue to happen if you disconnect everything from the device except the USB cable (and the Ethernet cable, if applicable)?

6. Have you enabled a watchdog on the device?

Hello Support Team,

Thank you for your prompt response - we only got a chance now to relook at the issue - and uninstalling and reinstalling the LJM software did the trick.
