Modbus TCP gateway

Hi everybody,

I'm very glad to start to use a LabJack device.

Just a question: can I use the T4 as a Modbus TCP gateway?
If I can, where I can find some documentation?

Thanks a lot,
Davide

The T4 is a Modbus TCP Server

The T4 is a Modbus TCP Server over Ethernet, if that is what you are asking.  See "Direct Modbus TCP, Clients" here:

Thanks a lot for your reply.

Thanks a lot for your reply.

I would like to know if I can use T4 also as TCP modbus gateway. I mean if it can incapsulate RTU requests over TCP.
Look at the attached image to understand what I mean.

If not, do you have some other product?

Thanks,
Davide

The T4 is not set up to run

The T4 is not set up to run as a gateway. The Unit ID parameter is ignored.

The best we could do is send a list of commands to the T4. A lua script on the T4 could then interpret those commands and send a modbus packet to the slave devices. This will not work with normal SCADA software.
