Ethernet Connection

Hello,
I am trying to connect the LabJack T7 to my laptop through ethernet connection. I am confident in the IP addresses being used as it has worked in the past. There were instances where I was able to connect to the LabJack and then permanently loosing the connection (the device no longer showing up in Kipling) with no changed variables. I have read the related troubleshooting pages extensively, as well as uninstalled and reinstalled different software versions and nothing seems to work.

Also, the ethernet port is displaying some odd behavior. When I plug the ethernet cable to my computer, the LEDs on the ethernet port on the LabJack light up (both the green and orange LED). However, when I unplugged the ethernet cable, the port remains lit (Both colored LEDs stay solid, no blinking is seen). The LEDs only turn off when I unplug the power from the LabJack. I know that the port itself is not the issue as I desoldered the old port, and soldered on a new one. This odd behavior occurred both with the old and new port.

I am able to connect to the LabJack to my laptop through USB connection and all functionalities work. This leads me to believe that there is something wrong internally with the ethernet. I am in desperate need for an ethernet connection. Is there anything that can be done to solve this issue? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The issue with the LEDs could

The issue with the LEDs could indicate a firmware or hardware issue. When you see the LEDs on while unconnected, what status do you see in the Network Settings tab of Kipling?

If you are not currently on firmware 1.0292, I would recommend upgrading to 1.0292 or our beta 1.0307 version using the Firmware Upgrader tab in Kipling. I would also recommend trying a factory reset using the Power up Defaults tab in Kipling or our FIO2 SPC jumper:

I am currently using  the 1

I am currently using  the 1.0292 version. The factory reset was already done on the labjack. I still am not able to connect through ethernet and this is when the LED issue occured (after the reset).

I think there is a good

I think there is a good chance that there is some hardware issue. We could take a look at the device for free if you would like to submit a repair request as described on the following page:
