Labjack T7 not responding in windows 10 --- works in a non-administrator account -- DOES NOT under administrator account

Something strange is happening with a T7 system.

I have an application in Visual studio VB .net that works properly in windows 7 .

I ported it to windows 10.

I have to keep an environment clean, so I do not give all permissions to the 'Operator' account.

I keep an administrator account.

I make the installation from te administrator account.

I first install Kipling to get all drivers ad everything ready.

Than I install and start my application.

Now it is only working if from the non-administrator account .

From the administrator it cannot work.

ALSO : KIPLING is doing the same : it is only working from the operator ( not administrator ) account.

I tried to start it with administrator privileges from the operator account, it does not work either.

what shall I do ?

Update :

Update :

I am not sure that what I will add now can clarify the problem.

I have created a new account in the same PC. Normal user (not administrator )

I have not made any new installation.

The new account was not working either with Kipling or with my application.

I have restarted the computer.

The new account after restart is working.

I have upgraded it to administrator and it keeps working

BUT the difference is that I now restart the computer every time I want to switch between the users.

What happens now consistently is that all three accounts work if I log in it from the very start of the computer.

NO ONE is working if I switch to such account from one other account.

I am not sure if  I tried this when I told you that the administrator account could not work ( yesterday).

One other point.

When the account is not working the Kipling application sometimes flashes a red warning on the top. I cannot be able to read it because it is very fast to disappear. But it looks like it says : " Kipling sub process is not running" or "has been stopped" .

Please look carefully, this situation is a big problem to me and to many others potentially.

Damn the windows 10 !

Thanks.

Now things are evolved.

Now things are evolved.

1) I made a new administrator account . I now have three accounts in the PC. Two accounts are administrator and require a password to log in.

2) ALL accounts are working IF and ONLY IF the account is started from power on,  that is : only if it is the first to be activated at power on .

3) NO one can work when I switch to it from another (working or not) account .

4) In other words : Log in (A or B or C) as First : result OK

                             [ Log in (A or B or C) as First ] + Switch to (A or B or C) from such previous account : result BAD .

5) All of the firmware and software T7 are latest release.

6) When things are bad : Kipling flashes a red label on top of the screen. Too fast to read it but looks like it is saying something as << Kipling sub process has been terminated >>

7) This behaviour is the same with USB connection or with Ethernet ( My T7 is not wi-fi enabled) .

We are aware of a similar

We are aware of a similar issue with the current release, but have only seen issues on non-admin accounts when opening a device causes an access violation reading:

https://labjack.com/forums/python/access-violation-using-ljmopens-window...

Admin accounts worked fine for us though, but there may be more to the issue considering what you are seeing. The earliest we can start investigating this issue is next week.

In the meantime, you can try the older LabJack-2017-05-04.exe release (under All Versions):

https://labjack.com/support/software/installers/ljm

It was working on my Windows 10 machine both admin and non-admin users. Before installing the older version, close all LabJack related applications, run your current LabJack installation's uninstaller, and then run the older installer.

We'll update this forum topic when we have more details about the issues with the more current releases.

I believe I've found a solution. I will release a new version of LJM that I expect will fix this issue for you and then I will update this thread. I expect that to happen tomorrow.

All right, that is working

All right, that is working fine. I disinstalled and reinstalle the new package and it is now possible to switch between the three user accounts without problems.

Thank you for your help.

regards.
