Hello Labjack Support Team -
I'm using a Labjack T7 Pro. I'm trying to experiment with a Model 3038 accelerometer and Model 834M1 accelerometer (Separately) to sense impact. Since the accelerometer's output is in mV, I have purchased the LJTick-InAmp to amplify the output signal. What would be the best way to wire each of these accelerometers (separately)? How can I configure Labjack to display the output signal? How can I perform a calibration on the output signal?
FYI - I do have DaqFactory that I can use with Labjack. Also, currently, I'm only interested in using 1axis.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
R
The 834M1 is very simple as it runs off 5 volts and has signal conditioning built in so it provides a simple single-ended signal that varies from about 1.3 to 3.7 volts. Connections are simple:
VS => POWERGND => GND
AIN0 => X or Y or Z
Now you can run LJLogM or LJStreamM and look at readings from AIN0:

Your other 3038 sensor is much more complex as it is a raw bridge sensor. Start here, especially look at post #13, and if you get stuck let us know where in that procedure you are stuck:

The T7 can handle bridge circuits directly, but if you need to read multiple channels of data fast then you might need to use the LJTick-InAmp, so at that point we would need more info about how fast you need to scan how many channels.
Thanks for reply -
I've tried connecting 834M1 directly to T7 Pro using Vs, GND, and AIN0. Unfortunately, I'm reading ~2.48V on AIN0 (using LJLogM), and I'm not seeing any significant changes on the output.
On the 3038, I have used the LJTick-InAmp's reference voltage as excitation voltage, and connected OUT+ and OUT- to INA+ and INA-. Using LJLogM, I'm not seeing any significant changes on the output.
FYI- In kipling I have configured AIN0 neg channel so it's using AIN1 instead of ground.
Please help!

Sounds like it is probably working. From the 834M1 datasheet you can see that at 0g the output is "Exc Voltage / 2", so we would expect something around 2.5 volts. A couple thoughts:
1. The 834M1 is a 2000g or 6000g sensor. 1g will only change the output about 0.000620 or 0.000200 volts, so it might take a lot of g before you notice the output changing.
2. The 834M1 is not specified for acceleration <2 Hz. That means you have to give it a varying acceleration at 2 Hz or faster. That also means you might have to acquire readings from AIN0 faster (LJStreamM perhaps?) so you can see the varying waveform signal you get from the sensor.
FYI- In kipling I have configured AIN0 neg channel so it's using AIN1 instead of ground.
That does not sound right. The 834M1 provides a single-ended signal, so you want to use a single-ended reading not differential.

Is the LJTIA plugged into AIN2 and AIN3? Then you want to read AIN2 to get the output of channel A on the LJTIA.
Have you seen the following about bridge troubleshooting with the LJTIA?

You want to use Kipling or LJLogM or LJStreamM, rather than the mentioned LJControlPanel which is for the U3/U6/UE9.
