Testing Nanogenerator Help Please

Hi,

I am trying to test the output of a nanogenerator with a U3-HV.

I am expecting an output current ~2 microAmps and open circuit voltage of 4V.

Any suggestions how to test this would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

So you want to measure

So you want to measure voltage and current?  Measuring a voltage around 4 volts does not sound too bad, but measuring 2 microamps could be challenging.  A shunt resistor with an amp is the likely solution for you.  What is the range of current you want to measure and with what resolution?

Yes I need to test both,

Yes I need to test both, although doesn't need to be simultaneously.

A range of 20microamps but resolution is not too critical. I had considered a shunt resistor as you have attached but was unsure of the mA range would suffice.

Thanks

The U6/T7 families have

The U6/T7 families have microvolt resolution so would probably do what you need directly, but best you can do on the U3-HV is use a low voltage analog input (FIO4-EIO7) which has a resolution of about 600 uV.  So you need to decide how big a resistor you can put on your signal, and then likely you will need an amp to make the voltage bigger:
