I have installed the LabJack-2017-03-17.exe package and connected it to computer through USB. However, in my device manager, or LJControlPanel, or Kipling, U6 cannot be recognized or found. Could you please advice? Thank you.
Start with item F at the bottom of the following page:
https://labjack.com/support/app-notes/usb-communication-failure
Note that Kipling is for T-series devices and will not work with the U6.
Thank you.
The status LED blink approximately once a second when USB is connected.
Device manager shows exclamation point on Labjack U6.
I did try to uninstall and install the device (as well as disable and enable), problem still exists.
I also tried to update driver, however, windows shows encountered a problem installing the driver software.
It sounds like memory corruption is a possibility. Try the recovery steps at the bottom of this page: https://labjack.com/support/datasheets/u6/installation/ljselfupgrade
For updating the driver via task manager, on 64-bit Windows use files from:
C:\Program Files (x86)\LabJack\Drivers\Install\LabJacka64
Normally using task manager to install the driver is not necessary, and it is recommended to use our Windows installers for driver installation. For reinstalling with our installer, make sure all software using a U6 (LJControlPanel, LJSelfUpgrade, LJLogUD, etc.) are closed, then run our installer. If this does not help, is there more to the error than Windows "encountered a problem"?
Regarding hardware troubleshooting, our last post is a good place to start. Other things to try:
Use a different USB port on your computer.
If possible, try your U6 on a different computer and see if it has the same problem or not.
